chemical vs. physical sunscreens
I made y’all this comparison chart highlighting WTF is the difference when it comes to physical and chemical sunscreens. Both of those words get tossed around a lot in conversation about SPF so today’s post is making sure you know the difference.
If you want to ask me which one I prefer, the answer is both. There’s plusses and minuses to each which is why with a blended formula kinda gives the best of both worlds. However, with certain skin types—one is superior over the other.
Bottom line: the best sunscreen is the one you actually wear. Sunscreen ain’t helping your cause if you don’t apply it to your face.
&& if you need some help adding a sunscreen to your cart, here are some of my favorite SPFs:
+ Control Corrective oil-free spf 30 (Chemical + Physical) | I wear this one every f-ing day and it hasn’t failed me yet. It’s sun protection first and foremost but this one melts into the skin, making it lightweight and perfect for under makeup.
+ Elta MD UV clear broad-spectrum SPF 46 (C + P) | use this if you’re dry, sensitive or have acne-prone skin. They also have a tinted version which is perfect if your skin is dark and beautiful.
+ Supergoop PLAY SPF 50 every day lotion (C only) | fast-absorbing, hydrates, water resistant but NOT waterproof. You can buy a HUGE container of this amazing sunscreen (18 oz to be exact) for less than $50 if you buy it off their website and sign up for theirs newsletter for 10% off…. just saying!
+ Skinceuticals physical fusion UV defense sunscreen (P only) | this has a tint as well and is lightweight and sheer feeling for being a physical only SPF.
