+ Q + A

+ YOUR RIDE OR DIE PRODUCTS?

Easy:

  1. iS Clinical cleansing complex.
  2. Control Corrective oil-free spf 30.
  3. Stratia Skin liquid gold.
  4. Lux Unfiltered no. 32 self tanner.
  5. Summer Fridays lip buter balm.

+ HOW TO BEST PREVENT AGING?

Sunscreen, forever and always. The idea is to PREVENT aging, not correct it and the sun is the number one cause of premature aging. So give an F and wear SPF.

Vitamin A!! AKA tretinoin, retinols, retinoin, retinyl esters, retinoic acid or retinyl palmitate. It goes by many names but it's proven to be one of the best at increasing your skin's cell turnover which slows down as we age. This means retinol helps with: brown spots, skin tone, skin texture, thinning skin and wrinkles. In other words, retinol improves everything.

Antioxidants, particularly Vitamin C. These protect against sun damage but also improves skin tone, brightens and boosts collagen production (which depletes as we age).

+ BEST PLACE YOU'VE TRAVELED AND WHAT'S ON YOUR BUCKET LIST?

Italy has my heart!! The country is breathtakingly beautiful, the people are chic, the aperol spritz are on point... I can go on and on. Bucket list trips defintely include: Tulum, Croatia, Southern France and Egypt!

+ ONE PRODUCT YOU CAN RECOMMEND TO EVERYBODY?

Lemme just insert an asterick and say almost everybody. CYA ya know? (cover your ass).

So with that, iS Clinical cleansing complex! It's my one go-to product that I can happily recommend for any and all skin types. It's a celeb favorite for a reason.

-ideal for blemish / acne prone skin - gentle enough for sensitive skin - maintains skin integrity - reduces appearance of pores - softens skin - suitable for shaving-

+ WHERE DO YOU LIVE?

Central Pennsylvania, baby! and PRAISE BE, because we're finally getting a Trader Joe's!

+ HOW CAN I BECOME AN AESTHETICIAN OR NURSE INJECTOR??

OK, first of all, YES! I have so much advice for you, all of which I wish I'd had known 10 years ago lol! First, Highly recommend becoming an RN first since it gives you the most versatility in what you can do after. As an RN you can work as an aesthetic injector and/or operate lasers.

To obtain a skincare backgruond, go to esthetics school afterwards. Esthetics school is very much what everyone tells you beauty school is like but it's short. It's like 6 months or less of school and I promise, you'll deal and get through it.

If nursing school isn't an option (or desire), realize that aestheticians can operate lasers too (plus chemical peels, facials and more).

Being an aesthetcian is so special and rewarding though because you can give really meaningful and life-changing results in the skin of your patients! For the skin being external, it has a crazy ability to affect a lot of things internal, like self-esteem, how you engage in self-talk, etc. There's really nothing better than seeing someone re-see themselves for the first with healed, corrected and beautiful skin (because we all deserve that!**.

+ FAVORITE MAKEUP PRODUCTS??

If you know me, then you know dewey makeup is my jam! Ideally using the least amount of products possible but I also won't lie to you because that usually ends up being like 8 different products. Here are the ones I'm always reaching for:

  1. Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation
  2. Refy Beauty brow sculpt
  3. Nudestix bronzer in bondi bae
  4. Nudestix blush in bare back
  5. Real Techniques beauty sponges (the orange ones, you knowww)
  6. Buxom lash volumizing mascara

+ HOW CAN I ADD SELF-CARE INTO MY DAY?

Self-care is not a luxury; it should be on your every day to-do list!

With that said, think about what really fills you up. What is something you can do that pours energy back into you? For me, it's exercising, sticking to a routine, my skincare routine, fresh flowers, diffusing santal, keep bougee soap in your bathroom... etc. Obviously the answer to this is different for everybody but find what works for you.

Secondly, hold yourself accountable. When you make a promise to yourself about something you're going to do--make you sure follow through. Don't flake out.

At the end of the day-- find what works best for you. Either way, whatever your self-care looks like, it's important that you get it. You can't give from an empty cup!
